About the Role
We are seeking a detail-driven Aerospace Quality Engineer to ensure components, systems, and processes meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. This role involves collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to drive continuous improvement within the aerospace and defense industries.
Responsibilities
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with industry standards, customer requirements, and government regulations.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, supplier quality, and other functions to reduce or eliminate production/part defects.
- Interface with customers on issue resolution and requirement clarification.
- Prepare quality documentation by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes for compliance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Determine conformance to specifications and assist in dispositioning nonconforming material.
- Approve manufacturing routes prior to release and after changes.
- Complete ERP transactions accurately and in a timely fashion to support deliverables.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and problem-solving within teams using standard problem-solving tools (e.g., DMAIC, 8D, 5Why).
- Participate as a subject matter expert in new product development projects.
- Support external and internal audits.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience in Quality Engineering.
- Experience with FAI, RCCA, SPC, PPAP, APQP preferred.
- Understanding of AS9100 preferred.
- Experienced with MS Excel required.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances and inspection practices.
- Desired: Knowledge of LEAN / Six Sigma Techniques.
- Should have a passion for quality, problem solving, process improvement, and customer satisfaction.
