About the Role

Guidehouse's Life Sciences practice helps pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and diagnostic companies develop custom solutions for product planning, pricing, reimbursement, commercialization, and regulatory compliance. This role involves partnering with clients at all levels to deliver these solutions and drive innovation in a transformative healthcare landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from cultivation to completion.
  • Lead the activities of the designated project team.
  • Support the day-to-day management of the client relationship.
  • Develop and manage work plans, staffing, deadlines, and budgets.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure work products are high quality and client-ready.
  • Lead team meetings and guide, manage, and coach staff consultants.
  • Provide constructive feedback on project participation and career development.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Managing Directors on project progress and developments.
  • Participate in sales initiatives and practice development.
  • Hone sales, project management skills, ability to manage multiple work streams, and professional expertise.
  • Meet client and business development goals to progress to the next level (Director).

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Science, Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare, Business or related course of study; advanced degree/PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 6+ years of prior relevant consulting or work experience with large global pharma, mid-sized pharma, and/or biotech clients.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including drug development and launch.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, identify key issues, and develop effective strategies.
  • Experience advising brand leaders, business unit leaders, and supporting insights & analytics leaders in pharma companies for portfolio strategy, commercialization strategy, and launch preparation.
  • Experience with projects related to market sizing, HCP segmentation, patient journey, forecasting, brand strategy, commercial model design, sales force sizing, marketing mix, and budget planning.
  • Experience with key Pharma datasets (e.g., CMS, EvaluatePharma, IQVIA/Symphony/Komodo claims, affiliations, Veeva activity data).
  • Ability to work independently with management oversight.
  • Experience managing project components, owning workstreams and/or analytics, and supervising/coaching/mentoring others in daily tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey strategic recommendations to various stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel, Access, etc.) and ability to leverage analytic techniques to guide client and team decision-making.
  • 5+ years of experience leading project engagements, including planning, scoping, budget development, management, and resource allocation.
  • Experience managing multiple or more complex projects within scope, timeline, and budget.
  • 3+ years of formal management of team performance to achieve project goals and exceed client expectations.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to client sites across the US, up to 30% of the time.
  • Demonstrated success formally supervising, coaching, and mentoring junior-level staff, including ownership and guidance of their career development.
  • Authorized/eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
