About the Role
This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, focusing on the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. You will lead a team of software developers to build best-in-class software applications that drive increased efficiency for engineers. You will define coding standard methodologies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products and ensure solutions align with business customer needs and processes.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to develop requirements, define problem spaces, create user stories, demonstrate functionality, testing and validation
- Ability to transform abstract or ambiguous requests into clearly defined requirements
- Develop and maintain the product vision and detailed development package, and roadmap in consultation with customer and stakeholders
- Drive all aspects of the software development life cycle from design, implementation, testing, to deployment of the back-end and front-end systems
- Create and maintain product artifacts to support development efforts and business requirements
- Coordinate on team priorities and developer requirements to enable incremental delivery of functionality
- Capture user feedback and integrate into product version releases
- Develop software in an agile team framework, including building consensus on designs, conducting demos, and organizing / supporting Sprints
- The ability to quickly absorb information in an unfamiliar domain and translate it into software
- Think outside the box, challenge existing processes, and identify improvements
Requirements
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, physics, mathematics, or engineering fields
- Minimum of 5+ years of software or data product development experience
- Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, and/or verification & test of hardware
- A demonstrated ability to manage development of complex end-to-end software
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills throughout all levels of an organization
- Ability to build trusting relationships with customers
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
