About the Role
Trexquant is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to translate the company's vision into an executable plan and ensure the organization delivers on it. This highly execution-oriented role involves working closely with the CEO and leaders across various functions to establish goals, assign ownership, and drive projects to completion.
Responsibilities
- Translate Trexquant's strategic vision into clear, measurable company-wide goals and execution plans.
- Drive the development of a unified research and trading platform capable of supporting cross-region and cross-asset quantitative strategies.
- Coordinate research, engineering, data, trading, execution, and operational teams to ensure necessary infrastructure is delivered.
- Establish priorities, milestones, ownership, and timelines for major initiatives and track progress.
- Identify bottlenecks and dependencies preventing efficient idea-to-production workflows for researchers.
- Help expand the firm's capabilities across equities, futures, corporate bonds, options, ETFs, FX, and other asset classes.
- Coordinate the operational infrastructure for trading across multiple markets, brokers, counterparties, and execution venues.
- Develop scalable processes to maintain execution effectiveness as the firm grows.
- Hold teams accountable for results while removing organizational and technical obstacles.
- Continuously seek opportunities to automate processes and leverage AI for efficiency gains in research, engineering, trading, and operations.
Requirements
- Exceptional operator with strategic thinking and a strong bias toward execution.
- Comfortable working across highly technical teams and understanding complex systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional organizations or initiatives.
- Strong ability to set goals and drive execution.
- Ability to break down large, ambiguous problems into concrete, manageable projects.
- Sufficient understanding of technology and quantitative systems to work effectively with researchers and engineers.
- Ability to coordinate many simultaneous initiatives while maintaining focus on larger objectives.
- Ability to create accountability through clear ownership and measurable outcomes.
- Intellectually curious and willing to learn unfamiliar areas quickly.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.
