About the Role
The Senior Product Manager will serve as the company's domain expert for assigned verticals, providing critical insights to Sales, Marketing, Implementation, and Insurance teams. This role involves understanding vertical markets, partner platforms, and customer needs to drive product strategy and success.
Responsibilities
- Own the scorecard for each vertical, including revenue, attach and conversion rates, partner activations, and margin.
- Set the vertical roadmap and manage company-wide priority changes.
- Maintain the vertical playbook, covering insurance types, carriers, channel nuances, partner history, and past decisions.
- Learn how platforms in the assigned vertical go to market and where insurance offers fit their workflow.
- Identify distinct buyers within a vertical and the critical moments of exposure.
- Provide Sales, Product Marketing, and partners with necessary product details, buyer problems, and value narratives.
- Partner with the Insurance team to define underwriting requirements, coverage structure, pricing, and constraints.
- Gather and synthesize feedback from various stakeholders including sales, implementation, partners, clients, carriers, claims, and end customers.
- Iterate on product design and positioning based on market signals, performance data, and qualitative feedback.
- Run experiments on offer placement, pricing, packaging, and messaging to optimize conversion.
- Design pragmatic embedded integrations for offers within partner workflows.
- Manage new product types from conception to launch, defining success metrics, launch criteria, and go-to-market readiness.
- Prototype and validate offer experiences using AI-assisted design and prototyping tools.
- Collaborate with Engineering to address platform gaps and determine needs for new functionality.
- Own the product relationship with platform partners and support Strategic Business Development in partner evaluations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience in B2B or B2B2C SaaS, with experience owning a product line or business unit end to end.
- Ability to quickly learn new industries and communicate effectively within them.
- Track record of growing a live product through conversion, pricing, packaging, and experimentation.
- Comfort with unit economics, including attach rate, take rate, and loss ratio.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and make informed decisions with partial data.
- Proven track record of managing and influencing diverse stakeholders, including C-level executives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
