About the Role
Abbott is seeking an Analyst, Strategic Pricing and Contracts to support the Medical Devices US Sales Division. This role interfaces with various departments to apply business management principles and financial concepts to maximize company performance, achieve sales and profit goals, and minimize risk. The position may support Enterprise Accounts or Cardiovascular Business Units.
Responsibilities
- Support cross-functional planning discussions with multiple divisions to align proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract terms.
- Support pricing governance throughout the deal lifecycle, including pricing analysis, financial impact assessment, Average Selling Price (ASP) optimization, and overall portfolio strategy, while ensuring adherence to internal guidelines.
- Maintain strategic ownership of contracts for assigned accounts, including lifecycle management, renewal optimization, and Gross Margin Improvement (GMI) execution.
- Apply knowledge of contract development best practices to draft, review, and negotiate contractual terms, including compliance provisions and rebate program structures.
- Identify and mitigate risk effectively by demonstrating an understanding of business terms and a working knowledge of legal concepts.
- Provide strategic guidance on contract structuring, ensuring alignment with internal policies and offering practical solutions to meet business objectives.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Contractual frameworks (Capital, consignment, GPO, etc.) including financial implications and their impact on contracting processes and product launches.
- Leverage artificial intelligence tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve workflow efficiency and enhance day-to-day operations.
- Operate with a strong sense of urgency, effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting customer-driven deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Assist in the execution of formal Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Assist with training sales team on requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to arrive at a viable solution when challenged with complex situations and customer requests.
- Manage multiple priorities and meet customer-driven deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Contribute to team development by supporting training initiatives and participating in special projects.
- Foster collaboration by working effectively in a team-oriented environment with diverse stakeholders and working styles.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree OR An equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years of combined experience in business, accounting, or finance.
- Prior experience in Medical Devices preferred.
- Experience with SalesForce, PowerBI, CPQ, CLM (or other Conga or Pros contract workflow systems) preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and CoPilot.
- Strong strategic and problem-solving skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with remote sites & business partners including building relationship with sales personnel to be highly effective.
- Experience with Government Contracting preferred.
- Strong quantitative & qualitative analysis, including experience working with large data sets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, remain organized and work under general supervision.
