About the Role

Shape and execute strategy to accelerate EV adoption and other flexible loads, delivering value for utility customers. This role focuses on policy and regulatory strategy in assigned U.S. regions, informing company strategy and sales priorities. Success will enable long-term, sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute policy and regulatory strategy for assigned U.S. regions.
Build external alliances and identify opportunities for key stakeholder relationships.
Write and submit comments for utility regulatory proceedings.
Attend conferences, workshops, and other convenings as a representative.
Research key regulatory developments to inform business strategy with a 2-3 year outlook.
Find avenues to influence policy, rule-making, and rate-making per company objectives.
Research regulatory filings, state policies, and competitive landscapes to track and support market development.
Collaborate with business units to support benefit-cost analysis and review program evaluation results.
Collaborate with business development to support beneficial outcomes and secure regulatory approval.
Assist business development in creating presentation materials on policy outcomes for client meetings.
Identify and pursue opportunities for formal and informal influence in industry and regulatory realms.

Requirements

BA/BS, or equivalent experience, in law, social sciences, or engineering.
5+ years of full-time experience in directly relevant policy and regulatory affairs for electric utilities and/or grid operations.
Significant domain expertise in transportation electrification, managed charging, DER flexibility, power systems, RTOs/ISOs, grid modernization, distribution planning, or public utility regulation.
Proven skill set for in-depth analysis of energy policy, regulatory writing, and/or state legislative lobbying.
Demonstrated track record of empathetic leadership, individual initiative, a spirit of inquiry, and solutions-orientation.
Aptitude to think, communicate, and execute strategically and tactically.
High attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent work ethic.
Functions effectively under time pressure.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to translate technical information into persuasive narratives.
Experience prioritizing among competing initiatives and evaluating the strategic value of new regulatory or stakeholder engagement opportunities.
Ability to work with diverse teams internally and externally and translate between various areas of expertise.
