About the Role
Accountable for the assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation of nursing care during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. Assists physicians during surgery and procedures in a circulating role, developing and managing optimal interdisciplinary care plans. Fosters collaborative relationships and adheres to policies, standards, and regulations to ensure a high-quality patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation of nursing care during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
- Assisting the physician during surgery and procedures in a circulating role.
- Developing, implementing, managing, and coordinating an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Adhering to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations.
- Engaging in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- RN-Registered Nurse of California.
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
- 2 years recent relevant ICU and PACU experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence with nursing theories, concepts, and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
- Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
- Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers.

- Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.
