About the Role
The New York Foundling Mentored Internship Program is hiring a temporary Project Assistant to provide support to staff across various departments, including Development, Training, Adoption & Legal, Home finding, Executive offices, and Mental health.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with basic administrative & office related tasks such as filing, phone calls, mail handling, procuring office supplies, and organizing rooms.
- Interacting with the community served by Child Welfare/FC.
- Engaging in research, report writing, training, video projects, and newsletter assembly.
- Performing field work and traveling to different office locations as needed.
- Participating in virtual and in-person meetings, maintaining consistent contact with mentors and internship coordinators.
- Meeting assignments and deadlines on a weekly basis.
Requirements
- Must be fluent in English and able to write in English.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
- Must have access to basic communication equipment (phone, laptop or tablet) and the internet.
- Willingness to learn and exercise basic technical skills in Outlook & TEAMS.
- Some presentation skills are necessary.
