About the Role
The Fair Futures Coach provides support and resources to help youth with justice system experience achieve their academic, career development, housing, and independent living goals.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with youth using creative, trauma-informed, and strength-based approaches.
- Maintain a caseload of up to 18 youth.
- Develop individualized goals with youth and take measurable steps towards them.
- Provide ongoing social and emotional support.
- Help youth explore interests and expose them to opportunities.
- Connect youth to specialists for school/program applications and career development.
- Support youth in academic/career settings by checking in weekly and visiting programs.
- Help youth navigate challenges and celebrate successes.
- Assist youth in planning and preparing for their next steps.
- Support youth in reflecting on unsuccessful experiences and setting new goals.
- Collaborate with case planners, tutors, and specialists for youth goal achievement and well-being.
- Collaborate with parents, families, and stakeholders using a strength-based approach.
- Adhere to The Foundling's policies, Code of Conduct, and applicable rules and regulations.
- Fulfill any other assigned duties and tasks.
Requirements
- Possess at least two years of experience working with teens in areas related to supporting youth, families, or communities.
- Be familiar with the communities where participating youth/families reside.
- Have similar life experiences as the youth and a passion for working with adolescents.
- Experience with and willingness to work with culturally diverse populations.
- Able to undertake advocacy and outreach with parents, teachers, the criminal justice system, and other institutions.
- Collaborate effectively as a team player.
- Empower youth to advocate for themselves.
- Maintain strong ties to the community.
- Knowledge of and experience providing treatment for domestic violence and substance use issues.
- Experience with common clinical problems such as child abuse and neglect, aggression, family conflict, depression, drug use, traumatic events, and truancy.

- $53,920.50 + $3,800 (Education Additive) + $3,500 (Bilingual Additive)
