About the Role
Serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to security-related concerns.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and community partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site policies, and document visitor activity, incidents, and unusual observations in required reports.
- Support a respectful, trauma-informed environment by maintaining professional communication and coordinating with site staff and emergency responders when appropriate.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
