About the Role
As an Access Control Officer supporting a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide professional assistance to visitors and personnel. You will remain visible, communicate clearly, document security-related incidents, and help deter unauthorized access while delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials as directed, and maintain accurate access-control records.
- Screen and direct visitors, vendors, and deliveries according to established entry procedures and restricted-area requirements.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, public areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or access-control concerns.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
