About the Role
The Freelance Firm is seeking a qualified and experienced Immigration Attorney to provide ongoing Master Calendar and Individual (Merits) Hearing coverage in New York City, Newark, and Philadelphia. This role requires recurring in-person hearing coverage, with initial work hours expected to be around 5+ hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for Master Calendar Hearings
- Handle Individual (Merits) Hearings
- Review case files and prepare for scheduled hearings
- Appear in immigration court as needed
- Communicate with clients and supervising attorneys
- Provide timely updates following hearings
- Assist with other immigration matters as needed
Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing to practice Law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years of immigration law experience
- Strong immigration court experience
- Experience handling Master Calendar Hearings
- Experience handling Individual (Merits) Hearings
- Available for in-person coverage in New York City, Newark, and/or Philadelphia
- Strong communication and client-service skills
- Responsive, dependable, and able to work independently
