About the Role

Origis Energy is seeking a finance professional to evaluate, underwrite, and manage investments in utility-scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System projects. This role involves evaluating project financing, performance reporting, and asset management for operational projects, contributing to the company's mission of accelerating the transition to a carbon-free future.

Responsibilities

Perform Excel-based project financial modeling, structuring support, and ad-hoc investment analysis.
Build and maintain project financial models throughout the project lifecycle.
Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure project information accuracy.
Prepare and present pricing and final investment memos to executive leadership and the investment committee.
Analyze and evaluate strategic corporate M&A opportunities.
Provide modeling support to the Capital Markets team for debt and tax equity financings.
Assist with pricing, negotiation, and evaluation of PPAs and battery tolling agreements, focusing on performance forecasting and risk quantification.
Analyze existing contracted and operating fleet data to benchmark underwriting and improve processes.
Research and analyze new markets, including power market trends and their relation to the company's portfolio.
Provide thought leadership on commercial negotiations and drive internal development priorities.
Understand and analyze federal, state, and local renewable energy incentive programs and tax opportunities.
Analyze the incentive and tax environment and underwrite various revenue streams.
Prepare detailed budgets for investment projects and report on budget-to-actuals.
Manage cash for relevant investment projects.
Coordinate project activities for successful and timely realization.
Communicate project changes and corporate liquidity impacts to Capital Markets, Accounting, and FP&A departments.
Assist in the acquisition and sale of projects.
Provide general support for ad hoc strategic initiatives.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of renewable energy power plants.
Expert financial modeling skills are essential.
Prior financial modeling experience (LBO, Cash Flow, Debt Sculpting).
Intimate knowledge of tax equity and project financing structures.
Deep understanding of tax equity partnership accounting (inside/outside basis).
Ideally 3+ years’ experience in renewable energy development / private equity / investment banking / project finance.
2+ years’ experience in renewables / solar strongly preferred.
Exposure to PPA agreements.
Base level understanding of power markets.
High degree of initiative and work-ethic.
Intellectual curiosity and a sincere interest in renewable energy and a passion for learning.
Proven organizational skills, ability to manage numerous unrelated tasks simultaneously.
Proven ability to deliver quality products under strict deadlines.
Ability to make evidence-based data-driven decisions.
A dedication to accountability and transparency (strong ownership mentality).
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent self-directed research capabilities.
Ability to work cross functionally and display emotional intelligence.
