About the Role
Ensures the proper operation and performance of customers’ heating/air conditioning systems in a residential environment. Identifies repair/replacement needs, provides information on equipment use, and ensures necessary materials are available.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates with Dispatch and management to ensure work orders are accurately received and attended to in a timely manner.
- Diagnoses malfunctions of heating/air conditioning systems and/or components in residential HVAC units.
- Repairs heating/air conditioning systems and related equipment and/or components.
- Manages repair costs while minimizing inefficiencies.
- Achieves first-time fixes, productivity, and customer service performance goals.
- Maintains tools, supplies, and equipment in safe operating condition.
- Manages and maintains appropriate inventory ensuring availability of required parts and equipment.
- Repairs various items, systems, and/or components for renovation and preventive maintenance.
- Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory.
- Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Transports tools, equipment, and supplies to job sites.
- Works independently and possesses good customer communication skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Strong HVAC experience in residential areas preferred.
- Universal EPA Certification with 1-3 years’ experience preferred.
- Ability to speak, write, and read English.
- Ability to work independently.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Strong HVAC and plumbing experience in residential and light commercial areas including steam, hot water, warm air, high efficiency, hot water storage, radiant systems, tank-less systems, ductless a/c, and package units.
- Familiarity with and ability to utilize electronic equipment, including computers, for queries and data entry.
- Regularly required to listen, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
