About the Role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, support access control, and help maintain a welcoming environment for guests, staff, and visitors. You will remain visible to help deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of shelter buildings, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization when required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate site personnel.
Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Requirements

A Guard Card or license is preferred.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
