About the Role
As the public relations and corporate communications lead for the Americas, this role provides strategic leadership, counsel, and functional direction to property Directors of Marketing and Public Relations across the region. This position advances high-impact initiatives that strengthen brand awareness, preference, and reputation, while differentiating Four Seasons across the Americas. It integrates communications into regional commercial priorities and serves as a regional brand steward, ensuring storytelling, partnerships, and collaborations align with brand standards, protect reputation, and support shared business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic counsel, functional leadership, and ongoing guidance to property DPRMs, helping properties develop effective communications strategies.
- Support the recruitment, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of new property DPRMs.
- Serve as a regional brand steward, ensuring property communications, storytelling, activations, partnerships, and collaborations align with Four Seasons brand standards.
- Lead the strategic direction and performance management of regional public relations agency partners.
- Partner closely with the Americas Commercial team and global Centres of Excellence to integrate public relations and corporate communications into regional commercial planning.
- Ensure regional communications strategies and campaigns reflect distinct market dynamics, cultural considerations, and audience needs across the Americas.
- Lead communications strategy and provide ongoing counsel for new openings and conversions.
- Develop and contribute to tools, policies, training, and best practices that build communications capability across the region.
- Develop and support regional public relations campaigns that create collective value for participating properties.
- Provide strategic communications counsel and oversight for property partnerships and collaborations.
- Support the development and execution of integrated regional campaigns, partnerships, promotions, and media events.
- Represent Four Seasons and the Americas communications function at select regional and industry events.
- Lead or support regional executive positioning and profile-building initiatives.
- Provide strategic counsel and support to properties on emerging issues and crisis communications.
- Establish and support regional communications measurement and reporting frameworks.
- Partner with Marketing on relevant integrated campaigns and social media activity.
- Lead regional communications programs, brand initiatives, and events in partnership with the global Centre of Excellence.
- Represent the Americas within the global Public Relations and Corporate Communications Centre of Excellence.
- Lead regional communications programs, earned-media initiatives, and events that strengthen brand awareness, preference, and reputation.
- Serve as a regional brand steward, providing strategic oversight of storytelling, partnerships, and collaborations.
- Establish and monitor regional program and agency performance against agreed KPIs.
- Provide strategic counsel and functional leadership to property DPRMs, supporting effective activation of brand and regional priorities.
- Guide property public relations strategies and budgets, including media relations, brand storytelling, issues management, and crisis communications.
- Partner with property and regional leaders on the recruitment, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of new DPRMs.
- Establish and promote compliance with communications policies, brand standards, and best practices.
- Develop training, toolkits, and shared resources with global Centres of Excellence to strengthen property communications capabilities.
- Establish property-level performance expectations, KPIs, and reporting standards.
- Foster regional collaboration and best-practice sharing among DPRMs and regional communications leaders.
- Provide strategic issues and crisis communications counsel.
- Lead regional PR agency relationships, including scopes of work, contracts, budgets, and annual planning.
- Provide strategic direction and performance oversight, ensuring agency programs align with global and regional priorities.
- Provide strategic communications counsel throughout the pre-opening, launch, and post-opening phases for new openings/conversions.
- Develop the communications brief and provide strategic direction to agency partners for launch plans.
- Lead communications activity before the appointment of a property DPRM.
- Partner with property leadership on the interviewing, selection, and onboarding of the property DPRM.
- Guide the property DPRM and agency partners in developing brand-led communications programs.
- Ensure property, regional, global, and agency stakeholders remain aligned throughout the opening or conversion process.
- Integrate public relations and corporate communications into regional strategies, campaigns, and shared business priorities.
- Guide properties in developing earned-first, quality over quantity, brand-led communications strategies.
- Develop timely regional storytelling opportunities that support priority narratives.
- Provide strategic communications support for regional Restaurant and Bar priorities.
- Ensure agency partners understand and adhere to Four Seasons brand and communications standards.
- Establish regional communications KPIs and reporting standards aligned with business priorities.
- Analyze performance and provide actionable insights to demonstrate impact, identify opportunities, and optimize strategy and investment.
Requirements
- Relevant educational background or equivalent experience in integrated PR, corporate communications, and brand stewardship.
- 7+ years progressive experience in PR and communications; agency experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership across public relations, corporate communications, media relations, influencer engagement, and reputation management.
- Strong brand stewardship and commercial acumen.
- Proven ability to provide strategic counsel to senior leaders and influence stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Experience leading multi-market programs, complex projects, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong agency leadership, budget management, and performance-management capabilities.
- Experience supporting issues and crisis communications.
- Strong understanding of luxury markets, media landscapes, and consumer expectations.
- Exceptional writing, presentation, coaching, and facilitation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of communications measurement, media monitoring, and analytics.
- Strong knowledge of the evolving media, social, and influencer landscape.
- Working knowledge of emerging AI technologies and their responsible application within communications.
