About the Role
As a Surveillance Security Guard, you will be responsible for monitoring security systems to detect suspicious activity and respond to incidents before they escalate. Your sharp eye and attention to detail are crucial in environments such as security operation centers, call centers, construction sites, parking lots, and gatehouses.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems to detect suspicious activity
- Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats
- Document observed events and incidents, writing detailed reports
- Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure the safety of the premises
- Control access to secure areas and check visitor identification
- Perform customer service duties such as welcoming, checking identification, and guiding visitors
- Manage access control
- Inspect security equipment and report any maintenance needs
- Perform computer tasks
- Address incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams
- Write incident reports and communicate security concerns
- Answer questions in person or by phone
- Work with law enforcement in case of serious situations or emergencies
Requirements
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Hold a valid security license
- First aid certification is required
- Strong report writing skills
- Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
- Strong proficiency with technology
- Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
