About the Role
Tutor Perini O&G Joint Venture is seeking a QC Engineer to join the Manhattan Jail Project in New York. This role involves expanding and developing standard operating procedures, assisting with Quality Management Plans, and managing a team of Quality professionals.
Responsibilities
- Expand and develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality associated with delivering a completed construction project.
- Assist with the creation of project specific Quality Management Plans and verify implementation of plan for each project.
- Assist with the development of Quality metrics that empower teams to review information on quality execution; work cross-functionally with operations to address any trend.
- Manage a team of Quality professionals to execute the administrative tasks related to reporting site evaluations, quality reporting requirements, and site specific quality planning.
- Conduct random site evaluations, including follow-up evaluations to ensure corrections have been made to deficiencies.
- Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and quality issues across project teams and among all quality personnel.
- Act as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as local quality regulations including: ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC.
- Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, Quality Department Staff, and Subcontractors.
- Stay abreast of trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to Quality.
- Keep the Company informed of the latest updates on best practices and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP quality control in building construction projects.
- Proven experience in conducting inspections, audits, and managing quality documentation.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficient with quality management software and MS Office.
- Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are a plus.

- Tutor Perini O&G Joint Venture is the company selected to execute construction of the Manhattan Jail Project in New York.
- The $3.8B project scope includes design and construction of a new state-of-the-art facility that will have dedicated space for on-site services and programming, indoor and outdoor recreation, food services, staff offices and facilities, amenities, below-grade accessory parking, and a secured entry.
