About the Role
Processing Technicians make possible top-notch diagnosis and treatment in the clinical laboratory at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. You will support laboratory technologists by registering patients, processing requisition forms, performing accessioning functions, collecting specimens, conducting centrifugation, separating samples, labeling specimens, and distributing them for testing.
Responsibilities
- Register patients
- Process requisition forms
- Perform accessioning functions
- Collect patient specimens through venipuncture and other methods
- Conduct centrifugation
- Separate samples into aliquots
- Label specimens
- Distribute specimens to appropriate laboratory sections for testing
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in specimen processing
- Prior data entry experience
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP
