About the Role

Join Braze's Data Division to shape the future of how customers model, send, and manage data on our platform. Your work will directly impact customer integrations, spanning user data models, custom attributes and events, data ingestion, and catalog data. Identify and prioritize high-impact problems through research, designing experiences that make Braze's data model easy to manage, trustworthy, and flexible.

Responsibilities

  • Define and design high-impact features and refine user experience for improving customer integration and data sending to Braze.
  • Design experiences enabling marketers to implement cross-channel digital experiences and launch customer engagement strategies quickly, minimizing engineering effort.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX researchers, product analysts, technical writers, engineers, and product designers to deliver solutions.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions, understanding customer workflows and identifying opportunities to reduce complexity.
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes and detailed interaction specifications for engineering teams.
  • Contribute to and evolve Braze's design system, establishing patterns and components for consistent experiences.
  • Think systemically about feature connections across the Braze platform, designing harmonious solutions for current and future needs.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership to influence the roadmap and advocate for design decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product design experience with a strong foundation in designing complex digital products.
  • Demonstrated experience working within established design systems, balancing consistency with innovation for enterprise software.
  • Systems mindset approach to design challenges, understanding feature connections for cohesive user experiences.
  • Comfort navigating technical complexity and collaborating with engineers to understand implementation constraints and possibilities.
  • Design process grounded in user research and evidence-based decision making, using insights to inform design and measure success.
  • Excel at cross-functional collaboration, building strong relationships with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers.
  • Operate as a strategic partner, influencing roadmaps and clearly communicating design concepts through visual artifacts and verbal storytelling.
  • Strong craft skills across interaction design, visual design, and prototyping, with a focus on complex information and workflows.
  • Understand the importance of micro-interactions and information hierarchy in creating intuitive user experiences.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, maintaining comprehensive design documentation and ensuring smooth handoffs to engineering teams.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous problem spaces and breaking down complex challenges into manageable design problems.
  • Portfolio showcasing experience designing for complex applications or workflow tools, with clear examples of improved user outcomes and business metrics.
  • Ability to articulate design process, constraints, and impact of solutions on users and business goals.
