About the Role
Join Sprouts Farmers Market as a Bakery Clerk and prepare and bake cookies, bread, and muffins in a professional kitchen. Deliver extraordinary customer service in a fast-paced, friendly environment while helping customers make healthy choices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and package all baked goods.
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods.
- Provide a high level of customer service and ensure proper preparation, packaging, and presentation of Bakery items.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment.
- Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy of all bakery products.
- Examine product rotation and discard outdated or spoiled items.
- Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of Bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
- Good communication skills; ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
- Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area.
- Ability to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Accurately weigh and label products using knowledge of scales and weight measures.
- Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to vertically transfer trays up to 5 lbs., from 7” to 64” for up to 10 hours.
- Ability to vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs., from 5” to 36”, for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
- Maintain a Food Handlers permit.
