About the Role

The Senior Account Executive interacts with clients daily, building and maintaining relationships with clients and carrier representatives. This role supports a Construction-focused commercial insurance book of business, managing complex risk management and insurance needs for construction-related clients. Responsibilities include preparing applications, specifications, and marketing strategies for new and renewal business.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiates terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Works with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
  • Prepares client proposals from carrier quotes, ensuring accurate presentation of coverage terms, pricing, exposure basis, renewal comparisons, and marketing results.
  • Highlights coverage gaps or differences to ensure clients understand potential limitations.
  • Obtains and maintains accurate exposure information necessary to avoid E&O claims.
  • Maintains a follow-up system to ensure policies, endorsements, certificates, and other information are received and processed.
  • May supervise or direct the daily job activities of Coordinators and Account Managers.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and client visits.
  • Keeps clients apprised of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory issues impacting the construction industry.

Requirements

  • Typically, more than 5 years of Commercial Lines experience, including recent tenure with a retail insurance brokerage or independent agency.
  • Experience managing a book of middle-market accounts (estimated revenue minimum of $1 Million) is required.
  • Experience servicing construction-related clients, including general contractors, trade contractors, developers, or other construction risks, is strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, including General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Commercial Auto, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Property, Builders Risk, Contractor's Equipment, and related construction exposures.
  • Understanding of marketplace trends and best practices to meet clients' needs.
  • Proven ability to prepare and analyze loss summaries to support renewals and client strategy.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with EPIC preferred or other CRM required.
