About the Role
Catholic Charities Community Services (CCCS) seeks an Outreach Coordinator to join a citywide initiative connecting immigrant communities in New York City to free legal services. This role involves community presence and outreach to inform individuals about available CCCS programs and the MOIA hotline, ensuring they know how to access safe and confidential legal assistance. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging vulnerable communities and is dedicated to supporting immigrant families.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate outreach strategy to community partners, including parishes, DOE schools, and community-based organizations.
- Attend community events to promote CCCS legal services, including eligibility screenings, referrals, and general immigration information.
- Develop and distribute trainings, presentations, and outreach materials for communities and for Know Your Rights presentations.
- Regularly review and update resources in attendee packets and information about other service providers.
- Track outreach presentations and attendance via internal CRM and data systems in collaboration with the data team.
- Maintain knowledge of city agencies and community resources for non-legal needs and external referrals for wraparound services.
- Work with program coordinators to ensure full capacity clinics.
- Support and provide coverage for program coordinators, including appointment scheduling and attendee confirmations.
- Support the intake coordinator with client communication regarding updates, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional training.
- Bilingual: English plus Spanish.
- Ability and experience working with diverse individuals and communities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organized.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, administrative, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to convene and lead meetings.
- Adept at using Microsoft Office suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative team environment.
- Willingness to travel to all five boroughs.
- Availability and readiness to work some weekend and evening hours.
