About the Role
Hudson Valley Community College is seeking experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join their Classified Staff team and continue building on decades of successful service to the community.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers at the counter, on the telephone, and via email with questions regarding student status, policies and procedures, and other general office inquiries.
- Assist with maintenance, accuracy, and production of permanent student academic records, including data integrity.
- Process enrollment verifications, transcripts, and all related Registrar Office activities.
- Assist with registration-related activities, including special group populations such as high school programs, hospital programs, and other off-campus groups.
- Assist with the preparation, scanning, indexing, and retrieval of documents for the College’s electronic document storage system.
- Assist students and the campus community with navigating and understanding various technological systems and suggest improvements based on feedback.
- Process student course drops and withdrawals.
- Assist with transfer credit processing.
- Assist with technical functions, including testing of transcript software, imaging system, and Banner, for both upgrade testing and troubleshooting.
- Assist other offices within the Division of Student Affairs on an as-needed basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must meet minimum qualifications as stated in the announcement.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Candidates must have been legal residents of New York State for at least FOUR months immediately preceding the date of the test.
- Preference may be given to successful candidates who have been legal residents of the municipality to which the appointment is to be made for at least FOUR months preceding the date of the written test.
- Selected candidate will need to sit, pass, and be eligible on the next available Rensselaer County Civil Service Exam for Program Assistant to be considered for permanent appointment.
