About the Role
The Child Health Advanced Molecular Phenotyping (CHAMP) Program aims to enhance the understanding of childhood diseases by improving access to human biological samples and molecular data. This role supports the program's research enterprises by processing biological samples, integrating them into storage and tracking systems for downstream analysis, and contributing to scientific inquiry.
Responsibilities
- Perform biochemical and molecular analysis (Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, IP).
- Perform state-of-the-art functional genomics assays (e.g., PhIP-Seq).
- Process, track, and store human blood, biofluid, and tissue samples under supervision.
- Participate in general lab maintenance, record keeping, equipment preventive maintenance, and environmental safety approvals.
- Assist in designing and implementing specific experiments at the discretion of the PI.
- Analyze and present data.
Requirements
- BA/BS in a related science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of immunology.
- Computer proficiency, including experience with Excel.
- Experience working with human biospecimens.
- Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques: pipetting, buffer preparation, serial dilutions, chemical weighing and handling.
