About the Role
Serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transportation locations.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as assigned, and report suspicious persons, vehicles, or conditions to appropriate personnel.
- Carry assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, training, and site-specific policies, using sound judgment and professional conduct.
Requirements
- Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
- Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
