About the Role
As a Security Officer Entry Screening in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
- Respond to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting unusual conditions, policy violations, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents to site leadership.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and other security-related observations.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
- Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
