Responsibilities

Provide technical support from a quality perspective in the resolution of production concerns.
Support the launch of new programs.
Verify that all quality standards relating to production processes and finished goods are adhered to under all circumstances.
Lead, participate, and approve Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) timing.
Ensure all APQP requirements are known, tracked, and adhered to using planned milestones.
Review Government Approvals required and developed Inspection Standards.
Lead Plant trials for Engineering changes, Tool Moves, and New Program Launches.
Lead Launch and Warranty issue resolution in problem-solving for applicable customer quality concerns.
Participate in Warranty reviews and analysis at the customer center.
Manage applicable new model launch field support to ensure effective containment and timely closure of issues.
Coordinate and participate in Internal/Supplier Drawing Reviews.
Prepare and complete Control Plans.
Prepare and complete component Receiving Inspection Matrix and Instructions.
Assist in Preparation and approval of Assembly Work Instructions.
Develop Product Validation (PV) Plan (Schedule) including reliability and confidence (R&C) requirements.
Develop, implement, and supervise Launch Containment System.
Participate in Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) review and team sign-off.
Participate in Bill of Material (BOM) review and sign-off.
Lead Engineering TA Temporary Deviation Request (TA) process.
Facilitate supplier deviation requests through closure with the supply base.
Coordinate and participate in Early Supplier Involvement with Design and Purchasing.
Adhere to all Product Delivery Process (CPDP) and Program Planning requirements.
Develop Customer attachment and contact point list (CIC).
Coordinate and ensure sign-off/concurrence of control plan/attachment point checklist.
Review GD&T, requirements of Finished Good/Components.
Prepare and present Launch QE Summary Report.
Develop Mapping Including Critical Characteristics Tables.
Participate in Document Linkage Review.
Review lessons learned database.
Establish Supplier PPAP timing and review/approve on time prior to Product Validation requirements.
Co-ordinate checking fixtures supply (design, manufacturing, Gage R&R, Instructions, Training).
Support pre-production builds.
Conduct Test Fixture Verification.
Ensure proper level test parts are built and delivered to the test lab.
Periodic review of in-process testing.
Post test set-up and result signoff.
Responsible for ensuring succession plans are in place for all critical positions.
Lead TIR investigation for quality related issues, prepare 8D report and ensure timely closure of issue.
Develop annual validation (PV) plan for designated programs.
Develop and maintain Program Control Plans.
Provide guidance for PQE’s.
Train members of the Advanced Operations team in specific quality disciplines.
Participate in quality systems audits with customers and external auditors.
Perform other duties as required.
Work within the guidelines of the Deco Employee Handbook and safety rules.
Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
Accepts personal responsibility to plan and conduct their work safely in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as company policies and guidelines.
Responsible for Good House Keeping in your area.
IATF16949 and ISO14001 awareness and adherence.
Other duties as may be required.

Requirements

Completion of community college diploma/certificate.
5-7 years of work-related experience.
Completion of a post-secondary education program in mechanical/quality engineering.
ASQC certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
Tier 1 automotive experience preferred.
