About the Role
Provide leadership for Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE) on 2nd shift, offering direction and assistance to the team.
Responsibilities
- Communicate status to other shifts
- Champion allocated BPD activities
- Discuss daily/weekly production plan with business managers
- Make adjustments to the schedule as needed due to production problems
- Allocate manpower as needed
- Maintain shift safety through audits, observation, and incident follow-up
- Discuss major downtime causes with maintenance daily and request corrective action
- Report shift status to assistant plant manager
- Coach and mentor group leaders to improve their general performance
- Ensure GM-GMS is followed
- Liaise with quality team to address quality problems and coordinate countermeasures
- Support area manager in resolving manpower issues in conjunction with union
- Understand and comply with local and national labor agreements
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime based on business needs
Requirements
- 3 years of manufacturing experience
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed by the business
- Must be able to work C shift (2nd shift)
Skills
- Leadership experience
- Highly developed oral & written communication skills
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of radiators, condensers and primary parts areas
- High level of analytical ability
- Knowledge of and coaching experiences in Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS)
- Demonstrated technical
