The AOT Senior Manager III functions as the District Transportation Administrator for the Division Headquarters in Berlin, responsible for managing all maintenance operations within Vermont. Responsibilities
- Managing all maintenance operations within Vermont.
- Managing and overseeing the maintenance budget for the region.
- Having approval authority for expenditures up to a determined threshold.
- Answering questions from the public and news outlets.
- Working closely with internal partners such as human resources, civil rights, and safety.
- Understanding the network.
- Having strong communication skills.
Requirements
- Associate Degree AND ten (10) years or more of management experience in one or more of the following areas: development of program rules and policies; development of long- and short-range goals and plans; program evaluation; or budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning or a combination thereof.
- High school diploma or equivalent AND twelve (12) years or more of management experience in one or more of the following areas: development of program rules and policies; development of long- and short-range goals and plans; program evaluation; and budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning.
- Incumbents should possess private means of transportation.
- Attendance at public meetings and hearings is required.
- Some evening or weekend work may be anticipated.
- A variety of strong adversarial opinions may be encountered.
