About the Role

The Admissions Advisor provides front-line support for the Office of the Registrar, focusing on expert advice and assistance regarding Admissions-related questions and processes for full- and part-time students. This role requires a broad knowledge of programs, academic policies, and Humber services, and may involve handling confidential information and communicating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and assistance regarding Admissions-related questions and processes.
  • Provide general knowledge assistance in other areas as required.
  • Retain a wide range of knowledge on programs, courses, academic policies, Humber and Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) policies and procedures, and Humber services.
  • Deal with sensitive and highly confidential information.
  • Communicate directly with prospective students, applicants, guidance counsellors, parents, faculty, administrators, and other authorized third-parties.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate use of initiative in both planning of work and in taking a pro-active approach to addressing customer concerns.
  • Possess practical experience in a complex service environment.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks, frequent interruptions, fluctuating volumes, and ongoing deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating confidence and good judgement.
  • Ability to remain calm when dealing with difficult people or situations.
