About the Role
The Regional Coverage Manager is responsible for business development, originating new business, and growing the bank's regional presence. This role supports the Innovation ecosystem across various stages, from early-stage banking to late-stage lending opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Execute HSBC Innovation Banking's commercial banking strategy.
- Identify and target growth markets.
- Build brand and product solutions for high-growth companies.
- Convey the bank's platform of services to the target market.
- Act as a conduit for companies, founders, and investors into the global network.
- Work with UK Relationship and Credit underwriting teams to onboard new clients.
- Communicate the bank's strategic focus areas to investors and founders.
- Educate internal stakeholders on regional opportunities.
- Drive new business origination by building relationships with the Venture Capital and advisory community.
- Represent the bank in PR activities, conferences, and ecosystem events.
- Develop and execute the HSBC Innovation Banking market strategy in the West of England and Wales.
- Meet quantitative business development targets and qualitative goals.
- Grow the bank's brand in local and international markets through speaking engagements, PR, and thought leadership.
- Integrate the HSBC Innovation Banking network into the West of England and Wales market.
- Identify and deliver cross-sell opportunities.
- Originate and evaluate prospective businesses.
- Assist clients in scaling and succeeding through product partnerships.
- Drive the client onboarding and credit process.
- Maintain client contact to support ecosystem development.
Requirements
- Proven track-record of operating in the Innovation space.
- Experience winning new relationships.
- Existing network of VCs and high growth companies.
- Expert relationship skills.
- All-round knowledge of banking products, including Treasury, Clearing, and Trade Finance Solutions.
- Validated ability to build meaningful and strategic relationships with CEOs/CFOs, VCs, and other ecosystem players.
- Experience in selling and strategically positioning a wide range of banking products.
- Strong negotiation, sales, and marketing skills.
- Excellent closing skills.
- Comfortable operating independently.
- Ability to draw on support from colleagues when required.
