About the Role

Consolidates, analyzes, and reports on the financial performance of the business/group to support month-, quarter-, and year-end closing processes. Supports an efficient and effective accounting function, identifies opportunities for alignment with accounting/finance processes, and acts as a point of escalation. Analyzes financial results to support closing and reporting processes, gathers and formats data into reports and dashboards, and supports the preparation of journal entries, reporting packages, and financial statements. Provides information and support for internal and external audits, reviews supporting documentation, and coordinates activities for strategic initiative implementation. Executes routine tasks within service level agreements and organizes work for accuracy. Collaborates with stakeholders to deliver on business objectives and develops knowledge of business/group accounting requirements. Exercises judgment to solve complex problems and works independently on a range of tasks. Broader accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Takes measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework.

Requirements

  • Typically between 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completed or near completion of an accounting designation.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
  • In-depth verbal & written communication skills.
  • In-depth collaboration & team skills.
  • In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth influence skills.
  • In-depth data-driven decision making.
