About the Role
Grant Thornton's Technology Consulting team helps clients navigate strategic technology change, advising on critical technology investment decisions. We assess technology risks, opportunities, and operating models to determine an organization's future-readiness and support clients with major technology decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support high-impact projects across multiple sectors, working with senior consultants and directors to shape client outcomes.
- Bring structure, insight, and commercial thinking to complex technology challenges.
- Play a key role in delivering technology consulting engagements, providing analysis, structure, and insight across a range of client projects.
- Analyze technology estates and operating model elements to identify risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to target-state options, principles, and portfolio-level roadmaps.
- Support workshops, interviews, and requirements sessions, capturing insights and shaping next steps.
- Translate and present findings and insights clearly and confidently to shape recommendations.
- Support system strategy engagements, including requirements gathering, vendor evaluations, and recommendation development.
- Contribute to market scans, shortlists, and platform/partner evaluations.
- Help build pragmatic transformation plans and sequencing, supporting mobilization activities.
- Work with SMEs to define integration, data, and reporting needs aligned with business outcomes.
- Contribute to technology due diligence, assessing risks, scalability, cost drivers, and value-creation opportunities.
- Support the development of separation and integration plans, mapping dependencies and documenting transition considerations.
- Produce clear, structured analysis and reporting in fast-paced deal environments.
- Work closely with senior consultants and Engagement Managers to plan work, manage tasks, and maintain quality.
- Coordinate with wider project teams to ensure smooth delivery, clear communication, and consistent quality.
- Build positive working relationships across the practice, collaborating with colleagues from different disciplines.
- Contribute to proposals, research, credentials, and methodologies that support practice development.
- Participate actively in practice initiatives, knowledge-sharing sessions, and internal communities.
- Build relationships with client stakeholders and represent the firm professionally.
Requirements
- Practical technology experience in a relevant environment.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts simply and effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exposure to IT strategy, digital transformation, or M&A technology engagements.
- Understanding of systems architecture, cloud platforms, or cybersecurity.
- Experience with data analysis or scripting (e.g., SQL, Python).
