About the Role
The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation focused on improving health by funding science, leading policy, and building partnerships. This role is within the Policy team, supporting the Infectious Diseases policy work and aiming to influence policy, shape evidence-based solutions, and build partnerships to address global health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver policy projects supporting Wellcome’s strategic priorities, managing workstreams from planning to delivery.
- Conduct analysis, develop evidence-based recommendations, and produce high-quality briefings, reports, and policy products.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Policy, Government Relations, Strategic Partnerships, Corporate Affairs) to deliver advocacy, engagement, and communications strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, policymakers, and subject matter experts.
- Represent Wellcome in internal and external forums, sharing expertise and influencing discussions.
- Contribute to a high-performing and inclusive team culture by supporting colleagues and managing risks and resources effectively.
Requirements
- Experience influencing policy and building trusted relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience developing evidence-based recommendations to support policy change.
- Comfort analyzing complex information and working with technical experts and policymakers.
- Ability to translate insights into clear, impactful messages for various audiences.
- Collaborative, organized, and self-motivated with strong communication and critical thinking skills.
- Experience developing and influencing policy, including working with governments, multilateral organizations, or other policy stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience producing high-quality policy analysis, recommendations, briefings, or other written outputs for senior decision-makers.
- Experience building and influencing relationships with a range of policy stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex scientific, technical, or policy information and translate it into clear, actionable messages.
