About the Role

Cogir Senior Living is seeking an Executive Director with strong operations leadership experience in hospitality to oversee the general management of their retirement residence and deliver a superior "More Living" experience to residents. The role involves leading a team, managing operations, driving sales, ensuring financial performance, and advocating for customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general management of the retirement residence.
  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff to ensure exceptional service and resident care.
  • Manage all department operations efficiently.
  • Ensure smooth functioning and strict compliance with collective agreements.
  • Optimize fiscal resource allocation.
  • Implement and maintain policies to uphold industry standards and regulations.
  • Achieve financial targets with maximum operational efficiency.
  • Create a focus on sales and occupancy, ensuring the team meets and exceeds occupancy targets.
  • Actively promote the residence within the local market.
  • Set and monitor targets for employee engagement, resident satisfaction, audits, occupancy rates, and net operating profit.
  • Build strong relationships with employees, residents, and their families.
  • Foster open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Seek feedback from stakeholders to identify areas for enhancement and implement strategies.
  • Maintain positive relationships with regional teams, external vendors, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years management experience, preferably in the seniors living industry, hotel, or hospitality-related industry.
  • Experience managing a multidisciplinary team in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends as required).
  • Strong understanding of business planning and processes.
  • Proven track record of achieving marketing, sales, and financial goals.
  • Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) within the last six months or be willing to obtain one.
