About the Role
A Medical Assistant helps patients and the clinical team at designated health centers, supporting medical care as directed by nursing and medical staff, and performing duties in compliance with organizational objectives and policies.
Responsibilities
- Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests.
- Records patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, and smoke status.
- Documents the reason for the patient visit.
- Performs in-house labs and collects specimens for outside labs.
- Performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
- Maintains stocked and orderly clinical areas.
- Ensures all dated materials are current and disposes of outdated supplies.
- Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and logs each service.
- Performs basic clerical work in the service area.
- Answers phones appropriately.
- Communicates problems and concerns to the nurse.
- Handles telephone inquiries.
- Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.
Requirements
- High School diploma/ GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate
- 0-1 year of related work experience
