Responsibilities
- Live the company’s values by displaying high standard characteristics and behaviors that lead to collective success.
- Perform packaging operations to ensure product meets specifications for efficient storage and shipment.
- Ensure Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations are followed.
- Assist with restocking of boxes, vacuum bags, and refilling roll stock for packaging machines.
- Inspect in-process packaging for consistent quality and remove defective products and packaging materials.
- Change Julian dates on machines, perform daily sanitation, and ensure proper operation of water and air compressors.
- Sanitize machines prior to startup, properly assemble, and perform proper shutdown, cleaning, and sanitation at the end of the shift.
- Review work orders to ensure product is packaged and labeled according to specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager on duty.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write in English and perform basic mathematics.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow work orders, as well as package and label the product correctly.
- Must have the sense of responsibility to accomplish tasks without supervision.
- Must be able to adapt and react to changing needs and priorities.
- Adhere to high standards of sanitation and hygiene.
- Must have excellent observation skills to prevent out-of-quality situations and production line problems.
- Must be able to stand, walk, twist, stoop, bend, kneel, sit and squat.
- Must be able to use hands to pick, handle, feel, finger; reach with hands and arms, pull and push trays with product, levers and boxes.
- Must be able to talk and hear.
- Possess normal vision with or without correction and able to distinguish colors.
- Possess fluent speech in English, writing and communication skills necessary to effectively carry out job functions.
- Must be able to read and comprehend work-related materials, numerical data and diagrams.
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 70 pounds using correct lifting techniques.
- Must be able to stand and walk on feet all day, except for scheduled breaks.
- Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment at 38-42F.
