About the Role
The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties Inc. is seeking compassionate and caring individuals for rewarding careers in Mental Health & Human Services within its Residential Division. These roles advocate for the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities, offering an excellent opportunity to learn about mental health and gain hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide the support needed to maximize the successful integration of participants into independent community living.
- Provide support, guidance, and hands-on assistance in learning and relearning skills of independent daily living.
- Provide contact and instruction to promote wellness and recovery.
- Offer structure, coordination of services and act as liaisons to other agencies.
- Provide supportive, goal-oriented counseling when needed, with a focus on decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Assist with case management duties including securing and maintaining housing, and applying for and obtaining services.
- Help and coordinate transportation.
- Help plan and encourage recreational activities.
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have proficiency and adaptability with computer software and web-based systems with the aptitude to learn additional systems quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of urban, suburban and rural cultures and with community members from varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
- Must be able to work regularly outside the office and in the field to engage with clients.
- Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with a MVR eligible for agency insurance coverage and reliable transportation.
- Regular and steady attendance is a requirement for all positions.

- All offers are contingent upon successful Statewide Central Registry (SCR), fingerprint clearance and possession of a valid NYS driver’s license with a MVR eligible for agency insurance coverage.
