About the Role
Product Engineers at Risk Ledger are crucial for enhancing user and product experience by solving innovative end-to-end product challenges. As a Senior Engineer, you will be embedded in a squad, leading and owning impact autonomously, working across the full stack on mid-to-large initiatives. You will set high standards, coach colleagues, and contribute to shaping engineering strategy.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate to deliver an exceptional product, working with product managers and designers to bring ideas to life.
- Influence product strategy and challenge assumptions by understanding the market and customers.
- Design and develop high-quality systems and code across the tech stack.
- Lead system design efforts, producing high-quality, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code.
- Move fast while maintaining a high quality bar through testing, automation, discipline, consistency, and best practices.
- Work in all areas of the platform and across business functions, contributing to company success.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level colleagues, enhancing their technical skills, system design thinking, and problem-solving.
- Get involved in areas outside of the day-to-day role in a growing startup environment.
Requirements
- Worked in multiple engineering teams focused on building a customer-focused SaaS product, balancing client value delivery with technical excellence.
- Deep experience with either backend (preferably Go, Java, C#, or Python) or frontend development (Typescript with VueJS or React).
- Reasonable additional experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, including deep knowledge of data model design.
- Experience with Containers and Orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud providers and cloud-native services, preferably AWS.
- Experience with event-driven systems and messaging services (e.g., SQS/SNS, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experience leading system design for non-trivial features or projects, evaluating trade-offs and ensuring alignment with team and business goals.
- A desire to deeply understand customers and their problems to improve their daily experience.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, tackle undefined problems autonomously.
- A keen sense of curiosity and a natural drive to learn and grow.
- Passion for collaborative work, team mindset, and pairing/mobbing principles are a strong plus.
