About the Role
The ACLU seeks a Pauli Murray Fellow to support internal initiatives, projects, and priorities within the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Department at the National office. This fellowship offers exposure, access, and training to cultivate leadership pathways for individuals aspiring to enter the nonprofit sector with a passion for civil rights and civil liberties.
Responsibilities
- Provide event support for heritage months, ERG events, and quarterly nationwide community hours.
- Develop and execute event communication and rollout plans.
- Draft and solicit feedback on event language for internal distribution.
- Ensure event accessibility through live captioning and/or ASL interpretation.
- Ensure accessibility of flyers and event descriptions on the ACLU Intranet site.
- Support technical needs for events on Zoom or Teams.
- Track EDIB data on designated platforms regularly.
- Support the Director of Equity and Inclusion in creating quarterly and annual reports.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, articulating findings and measuring key results.
- Support project management aspects of EDIB trainings, initiatives, ERG requests, and Community Building Circles.
- Oversee critical internal initiatives, projects, and priorities.
Requirements
- College graduate by September 2026.
- Eligibility to work in the United States for the duration of the program (January 2027 - July 2028).
- An 18-month, full-time commitment (Mon-Fri) from January 2027 - July 2028.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustained leadership and service.
- Demonstrated resilience in the face of systemic barriers or adversity.
- Commitment to civil liberties, civil rights, and social justice.
- Commitment to the mission of the ACLU.
- No prior connection to the ACLU is a plus.
