About the Role
The City of Sydney's Cultural Programs and Services team is seeking a motivated and organised Studio Coordinator to support the effective operation of creative studio spaces across multiple cultural facilities. This role coordinates safe, accessible, and well-functioning studio environments, providing technical advice, overseeing assets and equipment, and implementing operational and safety standards. The role is hands-on, combining studio operations, workplace health and safety, and program support, with potential involvement in public-facing creative programs and events.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate safe, accessible, and well-functioning studio environments.
- Support community and program teams.
- Provide technical advice to Program Coordinators.
- Oversee studio assets and equipment.
- Implement best-practice operational and safety standards.
- Assist with the delivery of public-facing creative programs and events.
Requirements
- Advanced ceramic technical skills encompassing kiln management, clay reclaim procedures, and studio safety standards.
- Experience coordinating studio, workshop, creative, cultural, or technical spaces.
- Experience applying workplace health and safety requirements within an operational environment.
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with tutors, contractors, staff, and community participants.
- A current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one.
- A current Class C Driver Licence.
- Must complete a pre-employment health declaration, medical assessment, and criminal history check.
