About the Role

Community Options, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Executive Director of IDD Services to lead and manage residential operations in Binghamton, NY. This is a key role for an individual committed to improving the lives of persons with disabilities, responsible for regional compliance, growth, budget, and workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations and ensure compliance with state licensing and reporting standards.
  • Formulate and implement an advisory board to assist in developing and expanding resources for service delivery improvement.
  • Assess operational issues and develop solutions to maintain high-quality programs.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures for continuous improvement in efficiency and services.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate grant and funding opportunities.
  • Conduct fundraising activities to promote the needs of the national organization.
  • Promote and maintain a positive public image of Community Options and its mission.
  • Interface with local, state, and governmental agencies.
  • Participate in developing long and short-term department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with five years of related experience in administrative and supervisory roles; master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities.
  • Understanding of funding sources and entitlement programs for people with disabilities.
  • Confident with public speaking at events, conferences, and on social media platforms.
  • Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.
