About the Role
The Test Technician at Bren-Tronics, part of EnerSys, will test and troubleshoot defective electronic sub-assemblies, batteries, chargers, and accessories detected during the manufacturing process. This role requires interpreting blueprints and schematics, repairing components, and documenting test results to ensure product conformity.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams for analysis and troubleshooting to the component level.
- Document test results and inspection data, comparing findings with specifications.
- Repair or rework products/components using electrical-mechanical assembly and soldering methods.
- Calculate and collect test data to verify adherence to functional specifications.
- Participate in prototype assembly and New Product Team to grasp product requirements and assist troubleshooting.
- Identify and explain product quality, efficiency, and effectiveness issues to team members.
- Assist with system-level repair/rework tasks, including SMT component or microchip replacement.
- Perform tests on assembled batteries, chargers, power supplies, and related wiring boards using testing equipment.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
- Operate production and office equipment.
- Work in a production floor environment and collaborate with team members.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Work overtime as needed.

- Minimum of 3+ years of technical experience or related experience in a Test Technician or similar role.
- Understanding of circuit boards, microprocessors, chips, and computer hardware and software.
- Understanding of how to use testing equipment to troubleshoot.
- Understanding of how to interpret test manuals, specifications, and related documents.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Soldering and electrical assembly skills.
- Math skills for calculations and interpreting results.
- Critical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Visual acuity to observe and analyze product parts, defects, and test results.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime.
