About the Role

Contributes to the Canadian Banking Compliance (CBC) Monitoring Program by executing risk-based monitoring and oversight activities, analyzing data, identifying issues, and supporting regulatory functions.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the execution, governance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the CBC Monitoring Program.
  • Conducts risk-based monitoring and oversight of Sales Practices & Conduct, Complaint Handling, Branch Closures, and other assigned compliance risk areas.
  • Analyzes quantitative and qualitative information to identify trends, gaps, control weaknesses, and emerging risks.
  • Prepares governance committee reporting, management reporting, presentations, and metrics.
  • Completes periodic, focused, thematic, ad hoc, and program effectiveness reviews.
  • Supports regulatory reporting and Global Regulatory Relations activities.
  • Contributes to the sustainment of the CBC Monitoring Program through documentation and training material development.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with stakeholders and business partners.
  • Understands and applies the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in daily activities.
  • Ensures adherence to the Bank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
  • Champions a high-performance and inclusive work environment.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience in compliance monitoring, testing, risk management, audit, data analysis, regulatory governance, or related financial services functions.
  • Experience executing risk-based monitoring, testing, oversight, or assurance activities within a financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian banking regulations, consumer protection requirements, compliance frameworks, governance processes, and risk management principles.
  • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, gaps, control weaknesses, emerging risks, and evidence-based conclusions.
  • Experience preparing governance and management reporting, presentations, working papers, regulatory responses, methodologies, procedures, and training materials.
