About the Role
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work in the field of special education as a full-time salaried Registered Nurse (RN) for a private, not-for-profit school for children with special needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing office duties and collaborate with administration as needed.
- Assess and monitor all health-related needs of students.
- Provide training and guidance to staff members in order to deal with emergency health situations that might arise with students and staff.
- Provide guidance to daycare program, follow OCFS regulations and healthcare and safety policy.
- Provide procedures for medication and health needs of children in daycare.
Requirements
- Must be an RN with 3 years of experience.
- Must have extensive pediatric experience with: GT buttons/feedings, seizures, and medication administration.
- Competent in first aid, diagnosis and treatment of anaphylaxis, seizures, and any other emergencies that may arise.
- Fingerprinting and a New York State criminal background check are mandatory.
