About the Role
Join the Trust & Safety team to combat adversarial actors in Google Ads. You will leverage AI/ML advancements and develop scaled solutions to protect users from scams and real-world harm. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise strategies against adversaries, identify fraud trends, automate enforcement, and improve ML models.
Responsibilities
- Lead in-depth investigations into complex TTPs to track actors and disrupt fraud rings targeting Google Ads.
- Apply advanced statistical methods and technical analysis to uncover abuse vectors like malware distribution, cloaking, and policy circumvention.
- Identify anomalies and build predictive visual models to influence automated detection systems.
- Drive rapid response for high-severity adversarial incidents, conducting root cause analyses for long-term prevention.
- Design and execute anti-abuse experiments to identify product shortcomings and test protection measures against evolving scam patterns.
- Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend and holiday coverage.
- Work with sensitive content or situations, potentially being exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
- 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
- 2 years of experience or familiarity with one or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python, or C++.
- 2 years of experience or familiarity with machine learning systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience Level

- 2 years of experience or familiarity with SQL, R, Python, or C++
- 2 years of experience or familiarity with machine learning systems
Education Level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Salary/Compensations
- US: $132000 - $189000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
