About the Role
As Director of Finance, you will be the strategic financial leader of St. Pancras London, partnering closely with the General Manager, Executive Committee, ownership and Marriott International to drive commercial performance, maximise profitability and enhance long-term asset value. You will oversee all aspects of financial management, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, risk management and capital investment, leveraging financial insight to influence decision-making and optimise performance.
Responsibilities
- Strategic financial leadership across the hotel, ownership and Marriott International
- Strong financial performance through effective planning, forecasting and commercial decision-making
- Annual budgets, forecasts and long-term capital investment plans that support the hotel's strategic objectives
- Timely and insightful financial reporting that enables informed business decisions
- Trusted financial counsel to the General Manager and Executive Committee
- Enhanced profitability through improved productivity, efficiency and cost management initiatives
- Robust financial controls and full compliance with brand, ownership and regulatory requirements
- Accurate management of the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and working capital
- Successful delivery of internal, external and regulatory audit requirements
- A high-performing finance team built on accountability, development and engagement
- Strong stakeholder relationships with ownership, Marriott and hotel leadership teams
- A comprehensive annual business plan aligned with both brand and ownership objectives
Requirements
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within a hotel environment, ideally as a Director of Finance, Financial Controller or in a comparable role
- Essential experience within a large, complex, multi-revenue-stream hotel operation, including rooms, food & beverage, events and leisure facilities
- Strong technical accounting expertise
- Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, capital planning and business performance analysis
- A proven ability to partner with General Managers, Executive Committees, ownership groups and corporate stakeholders to deliver commercial results
- Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimisation and operational efficiency
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insight
- Proven success in building, developing and leading high-performing teams
- Experience managing financial controls, compliance obligations and internal, external and regulatory audits
- A hands-on, visible leadership style with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement
