About the Role
The Security Transfers team handles the security asset onboarding process for GWM Australia clients. You will support timely and efficient settlement of all security transactions across markets, representing new asset inflows into the bank. This role is essential for supporting the Wealth Management business by ensuring timely processing of asset transfers with a high standard of control and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with transfer counterparty to agree on transfer details and timeline
- Process all instructions in accordance with the trade details and ensure accuracy in the SWIFT instruction sent to custodian
- Follow-up transfer cases to ensure smooth street settlement of the transfer
- Ensure all transfers are processed by EOD accurately
- Maintain and ensure that all trade documentation is properly filed and archived
- Liaise with custodians/counterparties/front office to resolve disputes and discrepancies
- Ensuring that assets (securities) received and/or delivered
- Ongoing self-development/cross training across Operations Services
- Perform daily reconciliations and ad hoc project work
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Financial Institutions
- Good understanding of financial markets and assets transfers processes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrate good time management, ability to prioritize tasks and to meet deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at all levels, and a strong team-player
- A proven ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Exhibit an appreciation of the risk impact of actions undertaken, with a good risk and control perspective
- Display high attention to detail, and is analytical with excellent reconciliation skills
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
- Curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows, validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
